Teenager Shot Near Alabaster Park

A teenager is recovering, after he was shot near a park in Alabaster.
Deputy Chief Curtis Rigney of the Alabaster Police Department tells NBC13HD News the incident happened about 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, on Simmsville Road, near Abbey Woolley Park.
Police officers in the area and heard gunshots in that area.
Officers responded and found one gunshot wound victim, and detained two people.
The victim, a 17 year old male, was transported to UAB Hospital, was treated and released that same night.
The victim and alleged gunman are high school students.
One person has been charged with attempted murder.
All names are being withheld, because all are juveniles.
