Tornado Reported Near Dothan; Storm Damage In Enterprise

ENTERPRISE - Enterprise Police Chief TD Jones says a downburst, not a tornado has caused widespread damage in Enterprise.

The Enterprise Ledger is reporting the following:

- No major damage at city hall or the police department. Trees are down in that area though. There are trees on houses across the railroad tracks from the police station.

- There are reports of damage at and near Wal-Mart. Enterprise Fire and Rescue have been called to the scene.

- There is damage west of the civic center.

The Dothan Eagle reports the following:

EMA reports a tornado is on the ground in Wicksburg. Damage reported at Ray Deans Farm Equipment.

Winds of 40-50 miles an hour expected with this storm. Alert reamins in effect until 1:45 p.m.

Henry and Dale Counties remain under tornado warning.

Radar indicated developing tornado 7 miles east of Ozark moving northeast at 19 mph. Tornado will be near Echo by 1:05.

Wicksburg is under a severe weather alert. The EMA has activated sirens in the Wicksburg area and reports a weak rotation has been spotted.

  * Warning expires at 1:30 p.m.
  * Storm capable of producing hail and destructive straight line winds
