An Inmate being held at the Shelby County Correctional Facility was released by mistake. On Tuesday, November 18, Kenneth Ray Hudson appeared in court at the Shelby County Courthouse. He was transported from the court back to the Shelby County Correctional Facility, and an error was made in the processing of his court documents resulting in his release around 12:30.

The error was later discovered around 5:00 p.m. and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office with help from Alabaster Police, immediately began searching for Hudson. Hudson was found just before 9:00 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of 4th Place NE in Alabaster.

Hudson has been returned to the Shelby County Correctional Facility where he is being held on his original charges of a probation violation on unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle and a probation violation on possession of a forged instrument.  He has a no bond on both charges.
