Shelby County sheriff’s officials say an
inmate who was mistakenly released Tuesday afternoon is back in
custody.

Deputies blamed a mix up in paperwork that allowed Kenneth Ray
Hudson to get out of the Shelby County Jail. Hudson was being held
without bond for violating terms of his probation for a
theft-related offense.

He was rearrested Tuesday night in Alabaster.

No new charges were filed against Hudson. Shelby County Sheriff
Chris Curry said his office will investigate to determine how the
mix up occurred.
