Second spacewalk scheduled for Thursday

Don’t lose the bag. You can bet that’s what astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper will be telling herself today on the second spacewalk of the current shuttle mission.

She and her crewmates will be making sure a bag of tools is tied down, so that it doesn’t float away like another one did earlier this week. NASA puts its value at about $100,000.

Thursday’s mission is almost identical to Wednesday’s. It involves cleaning and lubricating a troublesome joint. The two astronauts will also relocate a railcar used on the space station’s exterior rail track, and lubricate the end of the station’s robotic arm.
