PRICHARD, Ala. (AP) - Prichard officials are considering a
proposed electronic bingo facility that would require the City
Council to pass an ordinance regulating play of the game in the
city limits.

City officials say the Prichard Bingo and Entertainment Resort
could have up to 125,000 square feet of bingo game space, with an
initial investment of up to $100 million. The city says South
Carolina-based gaming developer Michael W. DeLeon has approached
the city about developing an electronic bingo casino.

DeLeon owns CBS Supply, the same firm that has applied for an
electronic bingo permit in Etowah County in northeastern Alabama.

Charitable bingo games are allowed in Mobile County under an
Alabama constitutional amendment passed in 1983.
