Preliminary report: murdered baby suffered ‘blunt force trauma’
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—-
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said Thursday that preliminary autopsy reports show 1 year old Janiya Hale died from blunt force trauma.
Hale was found dead at 304-F 3rd Avenue SW in Birmingham early Wednesday morning.
An individual was taken into custody but no criminal charges have been announced.
Hale’s death was Birmingham’s 33rd murder of 2009.
