Man allegedly uses stolen identity in Anniston arrest

A man faces an additional charge for allegedly lying about his name, while being arrested on drug charges.
According to the Calhoun Cleburne County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force,  nine people were arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine on November 18, 2008 in Anniston.
It was discovered one of the suspects arrested had stolen and presented the identity of an innocent person.
The name on the identification he presented was Brent Eugene Bivens.
This subject’s actual name is William Edward Carroll.
Carroll is 29 years old and has a home address on Poes Bend Road in Ohatchee, Alabama.
As a result of the deception Mr Carroll has incurred the additional felony charge of Obstructing Justice by Using False Identification in addition to the Unlawful Manufacturing of Methamphetamine Charges and the Possession of Paraphernalia Charges he was originally charged with.
Mr Carroll was also charged with numerous Grand Jury Indictments and a Probation Violation charge.
It is believed that Mr Carroll provided the false identification because he was aware of the Grand Jury Indictments and the Probation Charges he has been charged with.
Mr Brent Eugene Bivens was in no way connected with this case.
