Today the Greater Birmingham Humane Society introduced their new on-line lost and found pet section on their website, http://www.gbhs.org. This new on-line tool is available to help reunite lost pets with their families.
Although the Greater Birmingham Humane Society is not permitted to accept stray pets at their facility, they feel that reuniting beloved pets with their families is important. The on-line tool allows pet owners and finders alike a central resource where they can post essential information about the pet they are seeking or have found. The site allows a photo and a detailed description of the lost or found pet to be posted. Additionally, there is space for owner or finder contact information and any other relevant details that might help the pet find its way back home.
As anyone who has reunited a pet with his family knows, there is no greater feeling than to witness the pure joy of the bringing pets and their owners back together. “It is such a pleasure to be able to help reunite pets with their families, even if it is just by allowing their loved ones and finders a mutual place to search,” says Jacque Meyer, Executive Director of the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. “We are excited to offer this resource to our community and have already had community members register their lost pets today.”
Jacque Meyer, Executive Director for the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, will be available for interview about this exciting new resource. If you would like to speak with her, and learn more about the lost and found tool, please call 205.368.4128.
