Hoover Area Closer to Getting Hospital

HOOVER:  The city of Hoover is one step closer to having its own hospital.

Today, a state regulatory council chose Brookwood Medical Center’s proposal for a hospital off highway 280.  That means Brookwood’s plan will go before the public for a 35 day open comment period. That period begins at the end of the month.

Baptist Health System also has plans for the area; at Alabama 150 and interstate 459.  The regulatory council did not oppose Brookwood’s plan, fearing that would delay the process.
