Homewood officer shoots suspect in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala—A Homewood police officer shot a suspect during a traffic stop.

It happened last night around eight.

A Homewood police spokesman says Homewood officers followed a car into Birmingham.

They pulled the car over on Martin Luther King Drive near Nassau Avenue Southwest. 

Police say one of the people in the car showed a gun and wrestled with an officer.

Police shot him.

He was taken to UAB Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say other suspects are in custody.

lmao chicago! I don’t know how someone could miss exspecially with a swat team backing you up. I guess we know who is buying the doughnuts this month!

Come on Homewood PD.  Get on that target practice.  Use that sidearm the way it was intended to be used.  This thug shouldn’t be walking out of a hospital.  he should be headed to the morgue.  Get on that training!
