Fatal wreck on Chalkville Mtn. Road

At 4:54 pm the Jefferson County Sheriffs office received a call of a 4 car traffic accident in the 5100 block of Chalkville Mt. Rd. When deputies arrived they found a 2000 Toyota Celica off the road. A 12 year old Hispanic male, Christian Flores-Hernandez had been ejected from the car. The driver, his 20 year old brother, Daniel Flores Hernandez, was found with no signs of life in the hatch of the car.

Centerpoint Fire arrived on the scene and determined that Daniel Flores-Hernandez was in fact deceased. Witnesses on the scene said that the Celica crossed the median and went into the opposing lanes for no apparent reason. The Celica struck a Lexus then a Pontiac and a Dodge pickup struck the back of the Lexus.

The parents of the victims came to the scene and identified the victims as their sons. The 12 year old was transported to University hospital by helicopter with serious injuries. A passenger in the Lexus, was transported to St. Vincent’s East for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
