A second air quality alert in 2 days for the Birmingham metro area.
The Alabama Partners for Clean Air announced a CODE ORANGE air quality alert for higher levels of ozone for Thursday, June 25, 2009.
The alert affects people in Jefferson and Shelby counties.
The actions you can take on Alert Days are:
·      Carpool or take the bus

·      Combine errands into one trip – Postpone unnecessary travel

·      Limit idling-avoid drive thru’s

·      Mow the lawn another day

·      Don’t burn leaves or trash

·      Don’t fill your gas tank until after 6 p.m.
