Child abuse cases are often the toughest cases for prosecutors to win, mainly because most children are unreliable witnesses.
Authorities say kids’ stories often change because they forget facts or remember new ones.
The key to successful prosecution according to Shelby County District Attorney Robby Owens, is an in-depth interview in a comfortable environment where the child can be relaxed as possible.
