Bingo, King's job performance dominate AG's race

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Republican Attorney General Troy King is under a stiff challenge in his own party's primary after openly feuding with Republican Gov. Bob Riley in a dispute over electronic bingo.
King was Riley's legal adviser in 2004 when he was appointed attorney general by Riley.
After winning a full term in 2006, King for a time was considered a possible candidate for governor.
But his sparring with Riley and many of the state's district attorneys, including Republican prosecutors, has raised questions over whether he can win re-nomination against Birmingham attorney Luther Strange.
Strange lost narrowly in a race for lieutenant govenor in 2006.
Three attorneys - Michel Nicrosi of Mobile, James Anderson of Montgomery and Giles Perkins of Birmingham - are engaged in a much more low-key race for the Democratic nomination for attorney general.
