MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The president of the Alabama Public Service Commission, Lucy Baxley, is back on the job after another injury.

Baxley says she made an awkward move in late June and injured her back. She had surgery to fix a compressed vertebrae and spent time in rehabilitation. She has returned to the PSC, and she presided Tuesday at her first meeting since the surgery.

Baxley suffered a stroke in 2006 after losing the governor's race and has limited use of her left side. The recent injury is the second that has sidelined her since her election to the PSC in 2008. The 72-year-old Baxley says her mind is as sharp as it ever was, and she expects to serve the two years remaining in her term.
