Shop for the Gulf

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Fifty people from central Alabama are
showing their support for the Gulf Coast by shopping.
Planes lined up at the Shelby County Airport Saturday morning to
take people down to the coast to shop and eat.
Johnny Barnes, a pilot and organizer of the trip, tells The
Birmingham News that the goal is to show support for the area,
which is suffering a loss of business after the oil spill in the
Gulf of Mexico.
Some of the shoppers planned to return to Shelby County Saturday
evening while others planned to spend money in the coast's hotels
and return home Sunday.
